One of the most versatile and useful essential oils, lavender has literally dozens of uses. Most commonly used as a sleep aid, lavender oil can also be used to soothe headaches (the easiest way to do this is to mix with witch hazel and dab onto the forehead), and also as an antiseptic. It can be dabbed directly onto cuts and bruises with a cotton bud. It is also said to affect the centre of the brain which deals with pain and to help ease nausea when inhaled.
Our lavender oil is produced in France by steam distillation.
Lavender should be avoided in early pregnancy, but is safe for use with young children and in pregnancy after the first trimester.
