Cedarwood is a warm, woody oil with antiseborrhoeic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, tonic, astringent, diuretic, emenagogue, expectorant, insecticidal, sedative and fungicidal properties. It’s most common use is in skincare, especially for inflammation of sebaceous glands. It’s excellent for calming inflammation, and is often used in topical treatments for arthritis and other inflammatory conditions. It’s sedative properties make it a great choice for night time and bedrooms. It also makes a great natural insect repellent, and can be diffused to keep the mozzies at bay!
Our cedarwood oil is produced in India by steam distillation.
It is safe for children, provided it is well diluted, but should be avoided in pregnancy.
